I was lead to the path of massage through my own career experiences. As a health care provider of 11 years working in the fire service, I have seen much trauma to body's and how massage and physical therapy can heal the body.
I started my massage practice in Chicago at the New School of Massage in 2007. My studies consisted of Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Crainosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage, Chair Massage, Deep Tissue, and Mobilization Techniques. I completed my course work with 600 hours and went on to expand my training in Sycamore, Illinois by becoming Reiki certified in Reiki 1 & 2. In Berkley, California I continued my studies and became certified in 'Movement Intensive' Rosen Method.
I have experienced 30 years of physical work and high frequency stress related jobs through military, construction, masonry, fire service , and railroad management. Hands down I found massage my saving grace. I have pushed a good percentage of muscles, and ligaments to maximum capacity of strength. I have felt that massage has been able to help restore, relax, and rebuild the soft tissue of my body. In every working job experience I have been witness to aches pains and stress of the body to co-workers as well.
I want to help release these negative issues of the body and optimize quality of life through natural methods of massage. I believe balance is achieved when the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of a person are being met.
Through massage my clients unwind and gain access to this balance.
I believe that massage is a tool given on earth to create space in the body through touch. Space is precious for all. The ability to move freely without restrictions allows thinking and acting clearly.
When I'm able to support the needs of people through massage I feel I am truly on a sacred path through life's journey.
